Mrs. Deines and her husband farmed.
She was born April 13, 1903, on a farm near Woodbine, the daughter of Issac Ira and Julia Longhofer Riffel. Mrs. Deines was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aide.
She married Henry Julius Deines on Dec. 31, 1922. He died Dec. 17, 1982. Mrs. Deines also was preceded in death by a son, Harlan Deines, Aug. 11, 1960, two grandsons, Randy Farr, in 1978, and Rodney Deines, in 1993, and a granddaughter, Kathryn Deines, in 1949.
Survivors include two sons, Lester Deines, Chapman, and Dale Deines, Salina; two daughters, Jeanetta Farr, Peabody, and Arlene Hubnik, Abilene; three brothers, George Riffel, Hope, Sylvester Riffel, Herington, and Clayton Riffel, Navarre; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Herington.
Burial will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Herington.
Mrs. Deines will lie in state from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Donahue Funeral Home in Herington where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.
She also will lie in state after 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made either to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Herington or to the Lutheran Home's Chapel Fund and sent in care of the funeral home.
