Stroke Fatal For Tom Hightower

Tom M. Hightower, 81, lifelong resident of Walkers Creek community, died early Friday evening in a local hospital. He had suffered a stroke April 15 and had been seriously ill since that time.

Mr. Hightower was born April 27, 1887 in Milam County, the son of G. T. Hightower and Eva Davis Hightower. He was a farmer and rancher and at one time operated the Silver City Grocery Store.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Aubrey Hightower, Cameron, Harley Hightower, Mobile, Alabama; four brothers, Oscar Hightower, Cameron, Charley Hightower, Freeport, Dewey Hightower, Bryan, Fletcher Hightower, Houston; five sisters, Miss Effie Hightower, Mrs. Leona Angell, Mrs. Stella McCall, Mrs. Cage Kennon, all of Cameron, and Mrs. Eva Simmons, Houston; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Green's Funeral Home, Cameron, Rev. J. E. Lafferty officiating. Burial was in Walkers Creek Cemetery.
