Thomas Buckingham and his wife Hannah Hawkins Buckingham came to America on the "Hector" arriving in Boston in 1637. Thomas settled in Milford in 1639 on lot #36 located on present North & Govenors Ave. He had come from Wethersfield with Rev Peter Prudden. Thomas' will dated 19 Sept 1657 was proven 23 May 1659 at Magistrate Court in New Haven and the inventory was presented at Milford, CT. He was born in "Minsden"
