Sadie arrived in Washington Territory in November, 1877, after having traveled with her mother and older sister Olive from Connecticut to New York and then across the country by train to San Francisco. From San Francisco, they took a steamer to Port Townsend to join her father who had preceded them to W.T. After living a short time in Port Ludlow, the family moved to Deer Harbor on Orcas Island. She married Oberlin Loos and raised a family of nine children, some of whom are also buried in Woodlawn Cemetery. Their homestead was the property now owned by the Clise family.
