SOLOMON STEPHENS was born on 27 July 1800 in Georgia, and he was the third child of Stephen Stephens (1773-1852) and Mary Barrow (1775-1866).

He married Charity Watson before 1850 in Georgia. Solomon and Charity had SIX children of record, (Five children are named on census records, and an unnamed infant son is buried next to Solomon & Charity at the New Hope Baptist Church in Heard County, Georgia):

Benjamin F. Stephens (1850-1923),
Maryann LaFayette Stephens-Mooty (1852-1933),
Frances Elizabeth Stephens-Minter (1855-1897),
Martha "Mattie" Kansas Stephens-Chambers (1860-1944),
Alfred Olen Stephens (1860-?), and
Infant (son) Stephens (no dates on tombstone).

Solomon passed away on 01 April 1866 in Heard County, Georgia, and he was buried at New Hope Baptist Cemetery next to his wife Charity.
