SUDDEN DEATH.---On last Sunday morning, between six and seven o'clock, Mr. Josiah Powl, residing near the Hollow School house, in Leacock Township, while walking from the house towards the barn, for the purpose of feeding the hogs, suddenly fell over and became unconscious. He was carried to the house and a physician was sent for, but in a few minutes he breathed his last. Mr. Powl was in the sixty-second year of his age and had always enjoyed good health, and on the morning of his death appeared to be in a particularly happy mood. He leaves an invalid wife and six children, (the latter all married except the youngest son), to mourn his sudden departure. He was one of the most esteemed citizens in the community, and on Wednesday hundreds of his friends and neighbors assembled at his funeral to pay their last tribute of respect to his memory.
New Holland Clarion, June 8, 1878

Note: Mother of Josiah was Margaret Powell, friend of Abraham Good. (Lancaster County will book N1-22) She was the daughter of Edward and Mary (Kehler/Keller) Powell, of Lancaster, Pa. She died in 1821 and is believed to be buried in an unmarked grave next to Abraham Good in this cemetery.
The Powl family Bible and Josiah's gravestone say he was born July 15, 1816. His sister Joanna's gravestone and obituary say she was born December 25, 1816. This is not possible. The conflict has not been resolved.
