86, a longtime area resident and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Arlington, died of congestive heart failure Jan. 6 at the Arlington Hospital. She lived in Arlington.
Mrs. Abney, who moved to this area in 1941, was born in Somerset, Ky. She attended Coker College in South Carolina.
Survivors include her husband, James W. Abney Sr. of Arlington; one daughter, Dorothy A. Eastling also of Arlington; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
