Services for J. V."Volley" White, 72-year-old farmer, were held last Saturday morning at the First Baptist Church. He died last Friday morning at his home in the southeast part of Wagoner.
Survivors include his wife, Dora (Hickman) White, (NOT Carrie)* of the home, three sons(they raised 4), Ira and Elmer of Wagoner and Charles O. of Midland, Texas; (adding here: son, Marvin Lee, deceased, WWII, "Killed in Action" in 1945); two sisters, Mrs. John (Lydia) Shearrer of Muskogee, and Mrs. Betty Shearrer Wilcox of Patterson, Missouri; one brother, Benjamin Harrison White of Claremore, four half brothers, Andy and Luke of Inola, Paul of California and Raymond White of Vinita.
Rev. Al N. Glasgow officiated at the services. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Hersman Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Walter Sleeper, Bob Johnson, Dencle Allen, Frank Cunningham, Guy C. Denison and Pat S. Johnston. Honorary pallbearers were Charles G. Watts, W. A. Lamon, A. A. Payne, Fred Lawhorn, Charley Foutch, Dr. J. H. Plunkett and J. B. Tate of Tulsa.

"Volley" was the son of Andrew Jackson White and Mary T. Twidwell. (Predeceased by: 2 bros., John Wm., of Phoenix, AZ and Murphy S. White of Rogers Co, OK and 1 sister, Mrs. Nettie (Robt. Lee) Shearrer of Wayne Co. MO. Also 1 half-bro., Taylor White; 2 half-sisters, Etta & Annie White)
*Carrie was listed in this obit as Volley's wife. Carrie was the given name of Luke White's wife, a half-brother to Volley. And Marvin wasn't listed at all?
