Nov 2, 1940 - Pomeroy Herald - Funeral services were held at the Michael funeral home in Pomeroy last Thursday afternoon for Oliver Beane, 84, who passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 24, following a lingering illness. The Rev. F. C. Preul of the Methodist church of officiated.
Oliver Beane was born Feb. 5, l866 at Wapello, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Beane. He came to Calhoun county in 1877 and has lived in the vicinity ever since, farming in Butler township near Jolley until 1919, when he moved to Pomeroy. He never married.
He is survived by two sister: Mrs. Alice Ackerman of (rest of paragraph is illegible).
