He died at the Calhoun County Home near Rockwell City at the age of 82 years 3 mos and 2 days. He lived many years on a farm northwest of Jolley, and in Pomeroy from 1920 to 1930. Since then he has been at the county home. He was the oldest of family and never married.
He leaves four sisters: Mrs. Anna Jones of Albert City, Mrs. Eveline Eisner and Mrs. Alice Ackerman of Storm Lake, and Mrs. Lottie Freimuth of Davis, South Dakota, one brother Oliver of Rockwell City.
