James Edgar Holman, 78, Ewing, died Saturday March 24, 1984 in the Union Hospital in West Frankfort, Illinois. He was a retired auto mechanic.
Mr Holman was born in Illinois Feb. 3, 1906, the son of Alvin and Ola King Holman. He married Rosie Fern Fields,
on 19 Nov 1925 in Mt.Vernon, Jefferson, IL. She died in 1981.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Whittington with the Rev. Everett Beaty officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Chapel Cemetery in Ewing.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Surviving include two sons, Russell Holman of Ledyard, Conn., Stanley Holman of Ewing; five daughters, Louise Williams, Doris Douglas, Mary McCann and Sharon Burton, all of Ewing, and Joyce Gilbert of Effingham; two brothers, Harold and Stanley Holman of Mt. Vernon; four sisters, Amy Johnston of Benton, Nova Rice of Kankakee, Daisy Holland of Mt. Vernon and Mary Bevis of Herrin. 25 grandchildern and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Holman was preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild, Janice Renee Gilbert and one brother, Herbert Holman.
