Albert C Kugler was the 4th child and 3rd son born to Karl and Pauline (Klenk) Kugler. He was born at home in Brutus, Maple River Twp, (Emmet County) Michigan, on November 25, 1891. (His birth was recorded as John A Kugler and he was known as Al.)

Albert and his brothers worked the farm and had other jobs. Any earnings they made had to be given to their father. The boys were anxious to leave the farm as soon as they could.

Albert married Clarissa Leona Goltry on November 30, 1916, in Petoskey, (Emmet County) Michigan, by the minister at the First Christian Church, Rev W H Hedges. Their witnesses were Mrs Martin Goltry and Miss Minnie Kugler. Al and Leona moved to Pontiac, (Oakland) Michigan, and eventually settled at 40 S Roselawn St, where they lived until their deaths.

Albert and Leona had six children: Bernice Leona (born September 6, 1926 – died April 29, 2012); Eleanore Marie (born April 11, 1929 – September 12, 1929); Albert Stanley (born April 2, 1922 – died May 16, 1989); Dorothy Louella (born November 4, 1917 – died August 26, 2005); Ernest Lafayette (born February 23, 1921 – died June 22, 2008); Harold Keith (born March 13, 1936 – March 1, 2001).

Albert was a member of the Pontiac Masonic Lodge No. 21, Royal Arch Masons Chapter No. 5, Order of Amarenth No. 13, Pontiac Council No. 3, White Shrine No. 22, and the Iraq Grotto. He was a car mechanic and worked for the City of Pontiac and Consumers Power. He retired from the Automobile Equipment Company in Pontiac.

Albert died after a 7-week stay at Pontiac General Hospital on April 12, 1966. He is buried in Perry Mount Park Cemetery, Pontiac, in section 5, lot 470, grave 1, along with his wife Leona, and two of their children, Eleanore and Harold Keith.
