Friends were greatly shocked on last Wednesday evening when the news reached here that Al Hickman had died suddenly on the streets of Chattanooga. Mr. and Mrs. Hickman were living in Fayetteville, TN, but were preparing to move to Chattanooga and it was on this business, Mr. Hickman had gone when stricken down.
Deceased was 59 years of age, a man who had many noble traits of character and in whom a host of sorrowing friends feel most keenly his death. A bereaved wife and two bright little sons survive him.
The funeral was held at the home of his father-in-law, T. F. Ackiln, conducted by Rev. J. E. Woodward on Friday, June 13, at 3 o'clock and the remains interred at Mimosa. The pallbearers were James E. Spence, J. T. Dunn, T. S. Springer, Y. T. Garrett, F. M. Lincoln and J. F. Comer.
