Obituary – Mrs. Lewis Barker
Nancy Jane Blaine, daughter of Phillip and Cinderella Blaine born June 2, 1870, Scotland county, Missouri, departed this life, December 30th, 1945, age 75 years, 6 months, 4 days. She grew to womanhood in the community of her birth where she attended the schools and when at the age of twenty she was united in marriage with Lewis Barker on April 28, 1890.

They continued to reside near Memphis, Missouri until in 1908 they settled near Yorktown, Page county, Iowa, where they resided until 1912 when they moved to a farm near Conway.

They have continued to reside in Taylor County, farming through the years until age and infirmity caused them to retire from active life only a few months before her decease. They moved to Conway in the early fall of 1945 where she passed away after a long illness following a stroke she suffered in 1927.

To this couple eleven children were born, all of whom are living and all present at this service, as follows: Roy of Mount Ayr; Bud of Lenox; Leslie of Central City, Colo.; Myrtle Ambrose of Kent; Raymond of Blockton; Nora Sneathen of Redfield; Earnest of Conway; Verney of Emmons, Minn.; Harvey of Creston; Lacey of Conway; and Minnie Bauer of Valley, Neb. There are 39 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. They have reared 3 grandchildren, Lena, now Mrs. Alvia Flint of Loveland, Colo., and Homer of Berthoud, Colo., and Fern now in the service.
