Vernie, twin bro of Vera, drowned while fording cattle across Bull Creek in Wagoner county.

While attempting to cross Billie Creek which was swollen badly from the heavy rains Saturday night, Vernie Clark a young man living with his parents, Mr & Mrs J. H. Clark, in Pleasant Valley District, lost his life Sunday by the horse falling and pinning him under it. The body was buried here on Monday. Mr. Clark was a fine young man and leaves in addition to his parents three sisters & one brother. He was in his 29th year and most of his life had been spent here. He was one of the fine young men who answered his country's call and spent about a year in the service.
