Alberta Rivera De Lopez

Alberta Rivera De Lopez was born December 12, 1954 in Mexicali, Mexico to Norberto and Maria Luisa Rivera. She came to Dinuba, California with her two sons to find a better life, and then settled in Shafter where she raised her family.
Alberta worked seasonally in the apple shed, picked blue berries, and assisted her husband in their gardening business. Alberta had a happy outlook on life and enjoyed dancing and music, but her life was devoted to her boys.
She served her family in the traditional Hispanic Culture. She had 5 sons and 3 grandsons with a desire to have a granddaughter, which was fulfilled when Ivory joined the family. Her dream was to sit in the front yard and watch her all grandchildren playing together. Sadly her untimely death prevented this wish.
Alberta is survived by her husband of over 15 years, Gumaro Aguilar; sons, Jose and Tisha Juarez of Bakersfield, Rick and Jamie Juarez of Bakersfield, Luis and Amanda Reyes serving in the Air Force in the United Kingdom, Juan Zavala of Shafter, and Daniel Aguilar of Shafter, her sisters Isabel and Juan Rangel of Dinuba and Luisa Rivera of San Jose; grandchildren, Ivory and Antonio Juarez, Caleb Juarez and Ezekiel Reyes.
Holy Rosary will be recited Thursday, May 29, at 6pm at Peters Funeral Home for Alberta Rivera De Lopez, age 53, of Shafter who passed away May 19, 2008 in Bakersfield. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 30, at 10am at St. Therese's Church. Fr. Pedro Umana will officiate and interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 29, from 4pm to 8pm.
