Mrs. Minnie Eva Moore Ragsdale Tomlin, age 99, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2009 in the Houston County Nursing Home. Mrs. Tomlin was born in 1909 and grew up in Augusta, where her father Charles A. Moore, owned and operated a general store for many years, her mother Frances (Fannie) Marion (Holcomb) Moore was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Grapeland High School and Sam Houston State Teachers College. Mrs. Tomlin lived and taught for over 30 years in Beaumont, after which she retired to Crockett, where she lived for 35 years and was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Robert Bailey and Dorothy Riggs Ragsdale, of Pearland; daughter and son-in-law Frances Ragsdale Brock and L. Kingsley Moore, of Fayetteville, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and two great granddaughters.
Preceded in death by her parents, Charles A Moore and Frances "Fannie" Marion (Holcomb) Moore; first husband Bailey B Ragsdale passed away in World War II; second husband Clifton (Tommie) Tomlin; brother Tom M Moore, a long time Crockett resident who served for many years as Tax-Assessor and collector for the Crockett Schools.
She was buried on Thursday, April 2, 2009 in the Augusta Cemetery near the graves of her parents.
