Louisa Spangler Rowe,lived to be 96 years old. Born November 21, 1851 in Henry County, Iowa.

She was the oldest daughter of Mr and Mrs. C. Spangler. Mr. Spangler came from Baten, Germany at the age of 18. In Nov 1825 he settled in Pennsylvania where he was married. In 1850 they moved to Iowa. He served three years in the Civil war participating in Sherman's march to the sea.

November 10, 1870 she married Jacob Rowe. In Iowa. They moved to Kansas in 1885. They lived in Oswego for three years and then moved to a farm. The farm was purchased in 1902 in Fairview Township where Mr. Rowe died in 1922. Louisa lived on the farm till 1923. She then moved to her home on California and 5th street where she died.

Louisa and Jacob had five children. Sylvester who died at 7 yrs in Iowa. Smith of Webb City, Mo. Daughters: Ethel Mummy of Riverside, California. Mamie Dunham and May O'Connell, of Oswego, Kansas. The daughters were at her bedside at the time of her death.

Louisa had one brother George Spangler of Winfield, Iowa at the time of her death. She had one brother and one sister that proceeded her in death. She had 17 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

The Dunham's lived with Lousia in an apartment in her home so she wouldn't be alone.

She is buried in Oswego cemetery with her husband.
