Mrs S. E. Beck Taken by Death

Mrs S. E. Beck passed away at her home here on Wednesday, August 28, 1935, after a prolonged illness of nearly two years. She was 58 years and 20 days of age.

She had been ill for nearly two years and for the past week had been in a state of semi-consciousness until death came to relieve her suffering. During her illness she was tenderly care (sic) for by her husband and family and given every medical aid, but nothing could be done for her.

Sadie Sally Peterson, eldest child of Mr and Mrs Nels Peterson, was born on a farm near Ong, Nebraska on August 8, 1877, and departed this life Aug 28, 1935 at the age of 58 years and 20 days.

When a young girl she was confirmed in the Lutheran church (sic) at Stockham, Nebraska and remained a church member the rest of her life. She grew to womanhood in the Ong community.

On Oct 20, 1898, she was united in marriage to Stephen Edward Beck at the home of her parents near Ong. She, with her husband, lived on the farm northeast of Edgar until four years ago when they moved to Edgar where she resided until the time of her death.

Five children, Mrs Lester Everetts of Sutton, Elmer of Edgar, Harold of Sutton, Mrs Harry Brooks of Edgar and Glen at home, are left with their father to mourn her passing. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs J. E. Allen of Edgar and Mrs A. G. Karnatz of Ong, her aged father, Nels Peterson of Edgar, eight grandchildren and a host of friends. Her mother preceded her in death on November 29, 1934, and one brother died in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church Friday, August 30, 1935 at 2:30 p.m., with Rev T. S. Hughes in charge. Interment will be made in the Edgar cemetery.
