He married first Susanna Williams and had the following children: William P., Martha M., Russel A., Sarah M., Thomas C. "Rollins", Oliver P., Susan R., Caroline and Christian Mahulda. He married second Sarah Hazelton Mitchell 1 Dec 1867 their children are: Thomas Washington and Benjamin Willis.
Three of his children died in the War Between the States fighting for the Confederacy.
Willis died in 1872. He is buried in Carroll UMC cemetery in Franklin Co, GA.
