Obituary for Carrie Cox
Miss Carrie Cox, 71 died Monday, April 9, 1962 in her home in Imperial, following a long illness.
A daughter of Henry George and Sara Jane Purnell Cox, she was born June 10 1890, in Imperial. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in Robinson Township, Washington County from 1909 to 1919, in Findlay Township schools from 1919-1952, and for the next five years in Robinson Township, Allegheny County. She was a life-long member of Valley Presbyterian Church, the Wa-Le-Ta Bible Class and the Women's Association, a member of Montour Valley Grange No. 2005, and the Auxiliary to Wesloski-Hayes Post No. 335, American Legion.
She is survived by a sister, Miss Idilla Cox, and two brothers Charles and Edward Cox, all of Imperial. There are 27 nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Armour funeral home, Imperial. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 PM thursday in the Valley Presbyterian Church, Imperial. In charge of the services is Rev. Raymond Touvell. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery.
