Mary Paxton Edmondson was the daughter of Major David Edmondson and Sarah Paxton of Montillico Plantation in Rockbridge County.
She married David Laird, son of James Laird and Sarah King, also of Rockridge County, 28 March 1822, in Rockbridge County by A. B. Davidson.
She was the mother to six known children and died 14 days following the birth of her last child.
