She was born July 17, 1917, in Wilkes-Barre Township, a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Tkac Krakovski.
Anna attended Beauty School in New Brunswick, N.J., and she was formerly self-employed as a beautician in Edison, N.J. Anna was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Wilkes-Barre Township.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patsy Giacomo in 1988; her brothers, Stephen, George, Andrew, Joseph, and Jack Krakovski; and by her sisters: Mary Sobolesky and Susan Krakovski.
Surviving is brothers, Michael Krakovski, Hillsborough, N.J., Frank Krakowski, Whitehall, Pa.; stepsons, Joseph Giacomo and Patrick Giacomo, Edison, N.J., Anthony Giacomo, Jersey City, N.J.; several step-grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Anna was fondly referred to by family and friends as “The Gypsy” because you could always count on her to pick up at a moment’s notice and travel to any and all points of the globe.
Many have her to thank for opening up a whole new world to them. She will be missed.
Funeral service will be held on Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 in St. Joseph’s Church, 783 E. Northampton St., Wilkes-Barre Township.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
