John J. Krakovsky, 73, of 15 Seymore St., Wilkes-Barre Township, died Sunday morning at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born and reared in Wilkes-Barre Township, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna Tkac Krakovsky.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Slovak Church, Hillside Street, Wilkes-Barre.
Mr. Krakovsky served in the U.S. Army prior to World War II. During World War II, he joined the U.S. Navy and served in Guadalcanal.
He was a member of American Legion, Wilkes-Barre Township Post 815.
The deceased was employed in the construction business as a carpenter, retiring in 1965.
Surviving are brothers, George, Wilkes-Barre; Michael, Neshanic, N.J.; Frank, Allentown; Stephen, Wilkes-Barre Township; sister, Mrs. Patsy (Anna) Giacomo, New Port Richie, Fla.
Funeral will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Joseph A. Nat Funeral Home, Park Avenue and South Street, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Slovak Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
