Los Gatan Sean Lisher, a 17-year-old junior at Los Gatos High School, died Feb. 27 in Los Gatos, following an automobile accident.
Sean was born Oct. 3, 1980, in Santa Clara and grew up in Los Gatos. He went through Daves Avenue School and Fisher Middle School before coming to LGHS, where he had hoped to play on the Wildcat football team this coming fall.
Sean's mother, Anna, says she knew her son was popular but didn't realize just how well-liked he was until she and her family saw the number of people who came to Sean's visitation and his memorial service.
"We were in awe of the outpouring of people who came. We were just amazed to see all the parents, students and former teachers," she says.
Survivors include parents Dennis and Anna Lisher of Los Gatos; sister Michelle Lisher of Los Gatos; grandmother Theodora Bax of San Jose; grandfather Andrew Andersen of Salinas; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Interment was at Los Gatos Memorial Park. Donations in Sean's memory may be made to Los Gatos High School to benefit those students who might otherwise not have a chance to attend college.
