Mrs. William Maier, aged 68 years, of Buckman died at the St. Gabriel's hospital at Little Falls Thursday evening, at 9 o'clock, where she had been taken to January 1st, to receive medical treatments. Her death was due to old age and complications from which she has been suffering the past summer.
Mrs. Maier, whose maiden name was Anna Otremba, was born in Schlieshien, Germany, on August 17, 1858. At her early age she came to America with her parents who settled in this vicinity. In 1866 Anna Otremba was married to William Maier in Pierz, then known as Rich Prairie. They made their home on a farm in Pierz town for many years until 1914 when they moved to Buckman as retired farmers. Mrs. Maier has been well known and was cheerful and a willing helper where her services were needed.
She is survived by her husband and 9 children. The children are August and Anton Maier of Buckman, Mrs. T. F. Connolly of St. Paul, Mrs. Mike Priglmeier of Hillman, Mrs. Ed. J. Dehler and Mrs. Arno Guenther of Buckman, Mrs. Frank Grittner of Granite, Joe Maier of Mahomen and one adopted son, William Maier of St. Paul. Two sisters and two brothers also survive they are Joe A. Otremba of Pierz town, Frank A. Otremba of this village, Mrs. Carl Hoheisel of Pierz and Mrs. Joseph Hortsch of Shan, Oregon..
Burial service for the deceased Mrs. Maier were held in St. Michael's church at Buckman Monday morning at 10 o'clock and interment was made in St. Michael's cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. T.F. Connolly and son Thomas of St. Paul, William F. Maier of St. Paul, and Joseph Maier of Mahomen, Minn., were among those from out-of-town to attend the funeral.
