Morris was a son of Israel and Julia Zruikerman Epstein. He was born in Dalhiene, Lithuania, though at the time of his birth, it was apart of Russia. He immigrated to the United States in about 1894. He worked as a junk dealer and in E.E. Bottleing Company that was owned by his brother, Edwin. He married Rosa "Rose" Cominsky in Bangor, Maine on Febuary 1, 1907. They had the following children:

*Sally "Sadie" Epstein
