BEDFORD — Monte S. Anderson, 65, of 960 Blue Spring Caverns Road, died at 6:03 a.m. on Saturday at Dunn Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 27, 1943, in Bedford, he was the son of John and Arie M. (Hubbard) Anderson. Monte married Rhea Dawn Tirey on Jan. 27, 1962.
He was retired from NWSC Crane.
Survivors include his wife, Rhea Dawn Anderson of Bedford; one son, Trent Anderson and wife Darla of Oolitic; two grandsons, Dason and Devin Anderson; one brother, John Cameron Anderson and wife Hettie of Bedford; one sister, Wynn Adams and husband Kenny of Linton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Kenny Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Hopkins Cemetery.
