Doris Kathryn Corwin Greenough was born in Hemet, California on March 15, 1910 to William and Jennie Mae (Cox) Corwin. Her folks were apricot and walnut growers in the San Jacinto Valley. She attended college in Riverside, CA and graduated from Santa Ana College. In the summer of 1933, she came to Montana with a college friend and relatives where she met and fell in love with Frank Greenough. That fall she enrolled in Normal School at Billings. Frank and Doris were married in Hardin, Montana on October 24, 1934.

Their early married years were spent at Wyola, MT where Frank was the cowboss on the Antler Ranch. Gary, Myrtle Ann, Pat and Doug were born there. In 1945, they sold their holdings in Montana and bought the ranch at Recluse, Wyoming where Kathy and Mike were born and they adopted Jess. Their children were all raised at Recluse. She was a member of the Recluse Women's Club, 4-H, Wyoming CowBelles, and Arizona CowBelles.

In 1958, the Wyoming CowBelles named Doris the Wyoming Top Homemaker of the Year. Doris wrote and published her autobiography "Surviving the Good Life" which told the life of a woman on the ranch.

In 1963, they bought a ranch south of Tucson at Sahuarita, Arizona and thereafter Frank and Doris spent their winters in Arizona and summers at their cabin on Piney Creek in Story. Later on they moved from Sahuarita into Green Valley, Arizona. Frank Greenough passed away July 29, 1990.

Since then Doris has spent her years in Hemet, California and Sheridan, Wyoming. She enjoyed being with her family.
