Funeral services for Wendell "Windy" Sullivan, 65, of Perry, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, at The Behm Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison.

Mr. Sullivan passed away Monday, February 25, 2008, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland after a brave battle with cancer.

Born May 27, 1942, in Russell Springs, Kentucky, he was the son of Eva (Roy) and Bert Sullivan.

He enjoyed working on lawn mowers. He loved country music and played steel guitar most recently with the "Fort Huntsburg Band." After retiring, he enjoyed his days helping babysit his youngest granddaughter, Emma "Papa's Girl."

Mr. Sullivan worked for the Perry Township Road Department.

Survivors are his wife, Darlene (Tarman) Sullivan, whom he married June 30, 1961, in Leroy; daughter, Terry (Rick) Swiger of Geneva; sons, Wendell Sullivan Jr. of Painesville, Robert (Molly) Sullivan of Andover and Michael (Patti) Sullivan of Madison; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Barry Sullivan; and his parents.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Lloyd Banker, a longtime family friend, will officiate the service. Burial will be in Perry Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
