George W Lankenau was killed aboard the transport ship Tuscania when the ship was torpedoed Feb 5th, 1918 off the coast of Scotland. He was initially buried on the Island of Islay Feb 9th at Kilnaughton cemetery. He was exhumed in the early 1920s and reburied at the San Francisco National Cemetery.
