Olof moved to the Dakota territory and Christina moved with her two daughters, Anna & Ida, and two sons, Anders (who later changed his name to Andrew) and Carl, to Kansas. She left Iowa with 4 children, $125, one cow, a team of horses and whatever household goods they could haul on their wagon.
She homesteaded about 10 miles SW of Plainville, building the first sod house in the township. In 1893, she moved to Plainville, where she lived until her death.
