The Roanoke Leader obituary, Dec. 21, 1927:

DEATH OF M.B. CARLISLE OCCURRED ON SATURDAY
Death came to relieve Mr. Mack B. Carlisle of his sufferings at his home in this place at eight o'clock last Saturday evening. He had been in declining health for a long while and confined to his home for several weeks, being forced at last to give up the struggle and enter into rest. Mr. Carlisle was a member of one of the oldest and best known east Alabama families. He came to Roanoke in young manhood and engated in business when Roanoke was a small town. He had made this place his home most of the time and had a large circle of friends. A devoted wife survives him. As an only child, a little boy, died a good many years ago. Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, Rev. W.E. Lockler being in charge. Mr. Carlisle had long been a member of the Baptist church.
