Craig Empire Courier - July 30, 1930

Mrs. William ELLIS died in Denver Tuesday after a long illness. Her daughters, Mrs. William HALBERT and Mrs. Mary WHEATLEY, were with her during her last days. The other daughter is Mrs. Laurence PEAVY of Deep Creek.
The body is being brought to Steamboat to rest beside her husband, the late William ELLIS, former county clerk and county commissioner, who is buried in the Steamboat cemetery. Funeral arrangements have not been announced at printing, but probably will be held Saturday in charge of the Easter Star.
Mrs. ELLIS was formerly Loma KITCHENS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lemuel KITCHENS, pioneers of the Hayden valley. She was 50 years of age. She was married to William ELLIS in 1889.
In addition to her three daughters she is survived by three brothers, John KITCHENS, of California, Dick KITCHENS and Van KITCHENS of this section and several sisters, Mrs. Rellman McCROSKEY, Mrs. H. P. WILLIAMS, Mrs. Matt GATES, Mrs. Charles HARKNESS, and two sisters on the Pacific coast.
