Venvert "Ven" Ball, age 84, born Dec. 7, 1924, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009 in St. Mary's Hospital, Knoxville, TN.

He retired form American ENKA, and was a member of Denton Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arter and Linda Ball; brothers, John Ball and Virgil Ball.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Jo (Greene) Ball; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Charles Buchanan, Karen and Randall Bible and Tammy and Brian Garber; four grandchildren, Russell Buchanan and wife Susan, Blake Bible and wife Joni, Vanessa Garber and Olivia Garber; two great grandchildren, Harry and Georgie Buchanan. He also leaves behind one brother, Jay Ball and wife Nola; two sisters, Vauda Lee Sutton and husband Tom, and Bethena Ogle; also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel. With the Rev. Ned Ramsey officiating. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. Entombment will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, in Resthaven Memorial Mausoleum.
