John R. Anderson, 74 years old,a retired farmer, died yesterday at his home at Jonestown, near Oxford. He was born at Anthony, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George H. Anderson, and had resided in the vicinity of Oxford for many years. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs.Emma J. Slicer Anderson; seven children; Grover, of Uniontown; Mrs. Donald Rush, Stewartsville; Mrs. Ray Baldwin, Beattystown; George, Vienna; Frank, of Budd Lake, and Clarence and Mrs.Margaret Hunt, of Oxford; 17 grandchildren; one great grandchild, and two sisters, Mrs. John Bessick, of Port Murray, and Mrs. J. Todd Hill, of Somerville.
