Joe Bell was the son of James Omer Bell and Caroline Strong Edwards Bell, born in Erick, Beckham Co. OK. On 30 Jun 1943 he joined the U.S. Navy, where he served as a coxswain on the U.S.S. President Hayes. After the war he married Maria Consuela "Connie" Garcia in Colorado. The couple had four children. Joe served as Treasurer of the County of San Bernardino CA.
