Jack Bell was a son of James Omer Bell and Caroline Strong Edwards Bell, born in Erick OK. He joined the U.S. Army in 1939, and earned a Bronze Star serving as a first sergeant in Medical Collecting Company A, 122nd Medical Battalion of the 42nd (Rainbow) Division. After WWII concluded he moved to Denver CO where he married Leta Ellen Clark on 31 Jan 1948. The couple had three children. Jack was V.P. of Maintenance for Pacific Intermountain Express (P.I.E.) working in Oakland and Walnut Creek CA. He and Leta retired to Concord CA, after which he took eight assignments in six countries with the International Executive Service Corps.
