On 29 July 1572, she married Robert Fuller. They were the parents of 9 children-Thomas, Edward, Anne, John, Elizabeth, Dr. Samuel, Robert, John, and Edmund.
Two of her sons, Dr. Samuel and Edward, were aboard the 'Mayflower' when it sailed to America.∼[All dates below are from the writer's personal copy of the Redenhall parish church registers (which have never been filmed outside of England) or microfilm of original filmed church registers available on the web].
In the parish of Starston adjoining Redenhall, on 29 January 1572 (Julian calendar), being historically 29 January 1572/73 in the modern Gregorian calendar, "Robert ffuller & Sara Dunckhorne were married."
Where Sarah was born, or at least baptized, is unknown as the Starston church registers begin in 1558. Obviously she was not only 14 years old at marriage. She was undoubtedly born in England, but who her parents were has not been uncovered. The family name Dunckhorne, Dunkhorne, Dunkhorn, Dunkorn, etc., is not found in the Redenhall, Starston or any nearby church registers and the claim she was the daughter of John is uncorroborated.
Sarah was buried in Redenhall on 1 July 1584. She and her husband had seven children who in baptism order were Thomas, Edward, Ann, John (d.y.), Samuel, John again, and Edmond (d.y.)who are summarized in their father's memorial. Elizabeth and Robert were not their children. Claimed daughter Elizabeth was the third child of Robert Fuller by his second wife Frances, baptized on 29 November 1590. Claimed child Robert was the son of Robert "the tanner" Fuller baptized on 22 October 1581.
