Mose was the second of William James & Hettie Jane (Williams) Love's 14 children. His mother had 14 children, but the names of only 9 are known.

Mose was 13 years old in 1894 when his parents moved to I.T. Here they rented farm land in Wilson where his father operated the local gin and general store. His father was in charge of the gin, while his brother, George, managed the store and worked as postmaster of the post-office in their store.

"Miss Addie Ford was voted the handsomest lady at the box supper at Wilson last Friday night. The cake she received brought over $8."

The following year Mose, age 24, married Addie on March 26, 1905. They had three children: Charles in 1906; Edna in 1908; & Colbert on May 26, 1911.

On May 13, 1910,
Mose & Addie Love, ages 29 & 24, were renting a home in Wilson, Carter Co, OK. They had been married 5 years; Addie had given birth to 2 children, but only 1 was living - Edna, age 1. Mose was a farmer.

Addie was a patient in Von Keller Hospital when she died from heart problems on November 16, 1912. They had parted ways sometime before her death. Funeral arrangements were made by her brother, Tom Ford, who was married to Mose's sister, Rosa Belle. News about her death was published in The Daily Ardmoreite on Tuesday, November 26, 1912.

Mose & his brother, George, were caught transporting liquor across the state line; they were convicted & sentenced to spend time in Leavenworth Prison. Mose entered Leavenworth on June 24, 1917, & was released on April 13, 1918.

Mose, age 37, & Barthenia lived in Legate, Love Co, OK where he was farming for himself when he registered for the WWI Draft on Sept. 12, 1918. Mose was 5'11" & weighted 148 pounds. He had blue eyes & dark colored hair.

On Feb. 11, 1920,
Mose & Barthenia, ages 39 & 29, were renting a home in Wilson, Carter Co, OK. Their children were shown as Ella M., age 8, & William J., 5 months. Mose supported them by doing general farm work.

"Still Captured; One Arrested; Two Quizzed
Deputies Holden, Ginn and Kiersey captured a big wildcat still 10 miles southeast of the city early this morning and arrested Mose Love who was said to be in charge. A quantity of mash and some whisky was taken. Love is in the county jail. The officers also arrested Bob Williams and Ed Beckham a short distance for the still and they are being held for investigation."


On April 22/23, 1930,
Mose & Barthenia, ages 49 & 39, lived in Wilson, Carter Co, OK where he continued farming to support the family. Their children were Ella M., age 18; John, 12; Etta R., 9; & twins, Joyce & Doris, age 4 years & 9 months.

"Mose Love
Mose Love, a retired farmer, 915 C. St. SE, died Monday night in an Ardmore hospital following an illness. He was 78. Born in Cooke County, Texas, June 7, 1881, he had lived most of his life in Carter County. He married Miss Mary B. White, Ardmore.

Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Colbert and Joyce, both of Ardmore; John, Wheatland, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Ella Mae Hawley, Mrs. Etta LaFontain, both here; Mrs. Doris Vieroski, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; three brothers, George, Jack, and Bob, all of Ardmore; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services are incomplete at Bettes Funeral Home."
