Died from a fractured skull he suffered after a stroke. Eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas D. Morgan who originally settled in Alma, Illinois.

He was married to Mary Jane Lewis; she died in 1912. Three children survived him: David, Earl, and Mrs. Ruth Naucke. Two siblings also survive: Thomas Morgan and Mary Jones, all are from St. Louis. His brother in law, William Lewis, of Troy, Illinois, and his nephew Louis Morgan, and Mrs. William Frangen and Lester Kinder were his nieces.
