He was born in Van Buren county Aug. 12 1881 the son of Benjamin and Belle Cummings Wagner.
In 1902 he was married to Miss Emma Simmons, who preceded him in death Sept. 26, 1934. To this union was born four children, two sons and two daughters.
In 1936 he was married to Miss Irene Teeters.
He lived his entire life in Bonaparte area, and worked as a carpenter and farmer until the past few years after he moved to Bonaparte.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Ed (Hillis) Goodrich of Memphis, Mo., Mrs. Harold (Frances) Marriott of Chicago, Ill., and two sons, Harold Wagner of Boone, Ia., Sergeant 1st Class Benjamin Wagner of Fort Benning, Ga.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Wagner of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Beryl Sanders, St. Louis, Mo.; three nephews and one niece.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27 at the Miller's Home for Funeral, Farmington, with Rev. Willard Courtney of Bonaparte in charge. Burial was in Bonaparte cemetery.
