Aunt Dodie passed away on Monday, March 16, 2009 at Christus St. Joseph Villa, surrounded by her loving family.


Mary was born on July 26, 1908 to Angelo Gertino and Eva Martellaro in Pueblo, CO.


After the Great Flood in Pueblo her family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. Mary attended the old Riverside Elementary and Jordan Jr. High; she graduated from West High School. Mary went to work at the McDonald Chocolate Factory, from there to Utah Paper Box and finally into the family restaurant business.


After the death of both parents, Mary continued working with her brother Kelly at Kelly's Lunch until she retired. Aunt Dodie never married and had no children of her own, but she was a second mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to all her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Frank and Kelly; sister Josephine (Bay) Pezely and six nephews. Survived by sister Katherine (Blaine) Hill, Virginia (Bob) Langford and three generations of nieces and nephews.


Mary will be laid to rest next to her nephew Paul Hill at Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 South Memory Lane.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 715 West 300 North, Salt Lake City.
A Vigil Service will be held on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. and a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Church.
