John Calvin Snyder was the s/o Charles Richard & Ada BAUGHMAN-SNYDER. A WWI Army Veteran, when Age 24 he married 21 year old Estella Mae Ogline on August 9, 1919 in Somerset County, PA.

Estella Mae Ogline was the daughter of unwed parents David George Ogline & Catherine Stern, both from Somerset County, PA.

HUSBAND & FATHER: John, a Coal Miner and Estella a homemaker conceived and parented 8 CHILDREN. He'd apparently deserted his wife who then had him arrested for desertion and non-payment of child support. After securing bail being released from jail awaiting a court trial, John tried yet failed in his attempt to effect a reconciliation with his estranged wife. Having had purchased a flask of acid, @ Age 41 he swallowed the acid killing himself.

The coroner ruled depression as Mr. Snyder's motivation for swallowing the bottle of acid ruling his death a suicide. John Snyder's story both specific and graphic was published in Somerset's Daily American newspaper on March 12, 1936.
