Ada Jane Esherick, 91, of Somerset, died January 31, 2024 at her home. Born January 9, 1933 in Somerset, she is the daughter of John Calvin and Estella Mae (Ogline) Snyder. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest Dale Esherick, brothers, Charles and Robert Snyder, sisters, Hazel Letcher, Gladys Brady, Mary Donaldson, Margaret Shaulis, and Alverda Smith. Survived by special caregivers, Carol Miller, Cathy Foust, and Alice Sheets, numerous nieces and nephews including Ruth Makay, Betty Lou Petro and god-son Sam Petro. Ada worked until her retirement as a housekeeper for Somerset Hospital, she was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, and she enjoyed flowers and sitting on her porch. Friends received 11 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 12 noon, with Reverend J. Matthew Deal officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Camp PARC PO Box 404 Davidsville, PA 15928.
