After a brief struggle with cancer, Naomi Day Cutler died on Friday, Feb 22, 2008, at Alta Vista Regional Hospital in the presence of her immediate family. Naomi was born on Jun 19, 1928, in Minneapolis, MN, to Merrill Day and Ruth Winell, who died giving birth. She was raised with her twin sister, Ruth, by Belva Day and husband Wallace Linderman, known to them as mother and father, in Stewartville, MN. Her family moved to Washington D.C. where she completed high school during World War II and met her future husband Robert E. Cutler. They married in Missoula, MT, on Nov 3, 1950. They raised their family in Espanola, NM, from 1962 to 1987. After several years of separation Naomi moved to Las Vegas, NM, in 1999 and remarried Robert on Feb 25, 2000. In Espanola, Naomi was actively involved in many organizations including the Hospital Women's Auxiliary, Opera Guild, Garden Club, and Scouting. She was awarded Espanola Valley Woman of the Year in 1980. Naomi is especially remembered by her children for her ardent support of their athletic, musical, and academic pursuits, for chauffeuring them to two-a-day practices and piano lessons, and for religiously attending games and academic ceremonies at McCurdy School. In Las Vegas, Naomi was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, the Las Vegas Opera Guild, and Senior Circle. She was active in Presbyterian Women, Prayer Group, Logos, and 50s Plus. Naomi is survived by her husband, Robert Cutler; her children: Paul (Deb) of Farmington, NM, Carol (Peter Linder) of Las Vegas, NM, Charles (Chrissy) of Durango, CO; grandchildren: Jennifer, Jamie, Chris, Katie, Charlie, Blade, Zoe, and Paris. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Day; sisters: Lavonne (Tina) Crissman, Jeanne Parker, and Ruth Berg, and sister-in-law Marilyn Day. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother and sister, Jack and Maureen Day. A Memorial Service, led by Rev. James (Randy) Campbell, will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2008, at 11 am, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church, 1005 Douglas Ave, Las Vegas, NM 87701.
