Walter married Lydia Brink in 1897 but later divorced. Lydia was born Jan. 2, 1882 in Ludlow Allamakee Co. Iowa and died July 18, 1981 Crow Wing Min. under the name of Lydia Bond information from her daughters Ethel M. (Perkins) Kent obit. Lydia mother and father are Herman & Hendriett (Bax) Brink.

Walter E Perkins 80 who had lived in and around Marshalltown since 1909 died at 1:20 A.M. Saturday at a Toledo nursing home where he had was taken a week ago . He had been in ill six years and had been hospitalized here part of the time.
Mr. Perkins was born at Luana May 22, 1873 son of James and U Dora Perkins . He came to Waterloo.
Surviving are three sons and four daughters; Harry F. and Leo Perkins and Mrs. Homer Kent Marshalltown, Johnnie, Luana, Mrs. Betty Pope of Savannah, Ga., Mrs. Florence Wilkinson and Mrs. Jane Wallace Long Beach Calif. tow brothers and a sister; Mrs. Julia Bailey, Clarence Shively and William Perkins all of Marshalltown, and 15 grandchildren.
Services are being arrange at the Pursel Funeral home. Burial will be in the Iowa River Cemetery.
