Jane Rickle Sugden came to Waukesha Co. Wisconsin with her Children from England in the Summer of 1837 after spending part of 1836 in Detroit Michigan. The Sugden's were among the very first settlers of Waukesha County, her son Thomas having taken up his first land claim there in the summer of 1836. Four of John and Jane's children died young and are buried in England, Richard 1812-?, John (1) 1818-1818, Charles 1821-1827, Charles (2) 1827-? Daughters Emma and Mary came to The United States in 1836 with the rest of the family but there is no record of marriage or death for either. Eldest daughter Anne had married in 1835 the year before the family immigrated and remained in England all her life. The remaining 4 children lived in Waukesha and Richland counties Wisconsin the rest of their lives.
