Mrs. Esther M. Hoefel, sixty-seven, 805 N. Ontario St., Burbank, Calif., formerly of Lancaster, died Saturday night after an illness of several years, in a Burbank hospital. Born in Lancaster, she resided in Burbank for the past 10 years. While living here she was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. She was the widow of William Hoefel, who died in 1952. Surviving are a daughter, Helen, wife of Arthur P. Savage, with whom she resided, and a son, William H., Manheim. Also surviving are five grandchildren, and these brothers and sisters: Harry A. Ruthhart, Lancaster; George Ruthhart, Twin Falls, Idaho; William Ruthhart, Wilmette, Ill.; Walter Ruthhart, Bethlehem, and Miss Clara Ruthhart, Philadelphia. (Intelligencer Journal - Dec 2, 1963)
