George Sherr, seventy-four, 615 N. Cherry St., died at 4:30 p.m. yesterday, at the Lancaster County Hospital, after a three years' illness. Born in Strasburg, he was a son of the late Martin and Christiana Smeltz Sherr. He was formerly employed by the Stehli Silk Co., retiring in 1947, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Lodge 84, and the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 299, both of this city. Surviving are these children: Emma Pauline, wife of G. Harry Murr, Viola M., wife of Henry F. Geist, Gladys L., wife of Albert Ashby, all of this city; Dorothy May, wife of Noah S. Horst, Neffsville; M. Ethel, wife of Elmer C. Heinselman, Camden, NJ. Ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Kline, this city, also survive.
